Newton-Conover City Schools - School Nutrition Department is celebrating National School Lunch Week!
National School Lunch Week is October 10-14, 2022 and is to recognize the National School Lunch Program, which serves nearly 30 million children each day! The fun and creative campaign theme, "Peace, Love & School Lunch," highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student's success both in and out of the classroom.
National School Lunch Week highlights the nutritious foods available daily at our schools, and helps to educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program. School Lunches offer students fruits, vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium.
Our federally funded program has been fueling students for sucess for 75 years! Come in and enjoy some of our best loved menus, like.....Chicken Alfredo with Garlic Bread, Breakfast for Lunch, Hamburgers, Macaroni & Cheese, and Domino's Pizza to finish off the week! (all available at the majority of our sites). In addition, our High School sites will have Cajun Chicken Pasta with Garlic Bread, and a Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Sandwich.
We will also have fresh Farm to School products on the menu, such as....Fresh Cabbage, used for our steamed cabbage on Monday, and Fresh Apples and Grapes delivered on Tuesday for our Wednesday and Thursday Menus!
