Under a new North Carolina law (SL 2023-134, SECTION 7.13.(a)), all 8th graders must have a CDP to be promoted to 9th grade. This plan is crucial for helping students align their academic choices with their career goals as they prepare for high school and beyond. Additionally, this plan will be reviewed in 10th grade as part of the promotion process to 11th grade, ensuring students stay on track toward their post-graduation goals. We have dedicated Career Development Coordinators who will work with students individually to complete their plans.
